The Lenin quote very well could be fake. It's nowhere in his complete works, the only source comes from "The Unknown Lenin" by gorillions-mongering historian Richard Pipes who claimed to uncover "secret documents". The quote is out of character for Lenin anyway because he DID reply to Kautsky with over one hundred pages in the midst of the revolution.
