The joke is that among the Russian fanbase of Evangelion (a rather large and unique subgroup of the Evangelion fanbase) have a variation to the Asuka v Rei argument that calls Rei "a log" - a slang term for a sexual partner that passively takes it during sex - because of her rather passive character
