A censor bar on a person means the person has passed away. Yuri Gagarin died a tragic death. The censor bar is not there to copy fascist propaganda, but to show that whoever made the image is a massive faggot that doesn't know censor bars were made to protect a person's identity, so it doesn't fucking apply to a famous person like Yuri Gagarin and only put it in for the "aesthetic" and because its probably a deconverted polyp turned into a stalinoid. So yes it is derived from fascist propaganda, no, its not derived from fascist propaganda its used in medical photography and it's often done to mask a patient's identity. So yes, no. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU OP. Damn. Why? I don't know. You only made this fucking shite image for the LE VAPORWAVE aesthetic. Fucking pop art garbage.
#2752: Search up "fashwave" and you will very quickly find many, many images using a censor bar over eyes. They even plaster it over statues. It's a staple of the subgenre and, while medical photography also censors eyes, these are not medical photographs and fashwave idiots weren't copying medical photographs when they did it. It's mere coincidence that both use the same technique. My guess is they were copying neo-Nazi propaganda photos of LARPers doing the salute with their face partly censored to protect their identity from doxxing, plenty of those photos around, and then they eventually just started associating it as a 'cool' icon in itself, no longer about hiding identity.
